Saturday Morning Cruise and Classic British Car Show April 27th 2013

On Saturday April 27th, the British Motor Car Club of Southern New Mexico (say that 5 times fast!) will be hosting its annual “British Car Days” in Downtown Las Cruces.  Our buddy James will be showing a couple of his Classic Mini’s and there should be a HUGE Variety of classic British Cars like MG’s, Triumphs, Austins, Jags and more to check out.  Entries come from all around the country so it will be a good opportunity to check out some classics you don’t get to see all the time!

We’ve also been invited by Johnny Lolita’s coffee to stop by and say Hello!  Johnny Lolitas is on Highway 28 leading up to old Mesilla and the owners love everything MINI! For Saturday Morning’s cruise, we will stop in at Johnny Lolita’s then take 28 into Las Cruces for the Car Show.

MEET TIME EARLY! 8:45 AM

Meet up at the Outlet Mall Parking lot between 8:45 and 9:15 am.  We will leave right around 9:30 and travel on highway 28 for around 15 minutes to get some coffee at Johnny Lolitas.  MAP and Directions from Outlets to Johnny’s

ROUTE TO DOWNTOWN LAS CRUCES

After we get our caffeine fix, we will continue up 28 all the way to Las Cruces.  We will follow the highway through Old Mesilla, under the I-10 overpass and all the way to S. Valley. Drive.

At S. Valley, we will turn left and travel to W. Amador Ave.

At W. Amador we will turn right and travel to S. Alameda Blvd.

At S. Alameda Blvd we will turn left and make our way to to the car show.

Parking in the area will be one of those “spontaneous” events we have all come to know well on our outings.  I may get more info before then and will post it up if I hear anything.

I know Saturday Mornings are not always convenient for everyone’s work schedules and what not, but no worries!  If you can make it, GREAT, if not, the 3rd Anual Gila Rally is Right around the corner in May!

Thursday and Friday April 18th and 19th
MINI of El Paso will be hosting a Spring Cleaning event and Maintenance Workshops. Go by and check it out! Full details are available on MINI of El Paso Website.

Sunday April 21st
Rally/Picnic/Grilling at Aguirre Springs

We will be hosting our monthly rally this month on Sunday April 21 to the Oregon Mountains (Aguirre Springs) by Las Cruces. Our morning meet up spot will be at the Starbucks located in the parking lot of the Outlet Mall, 7049 S Desert Blvd, El Paso, TX, at 9:00am. We will depart out on our journey at 10:00am and head to the re-group location in Las Cruces using Highway 28. Our re-group location in Las Cruses will be the Albertsons on Main St. by N. Solano, 2501 N Main St, Las Cruces, NM, where we will also meet up with any of our Las Cruses minions. We should arrive at about 10:45am and depart on the rest of our journey by 11:15am. We will then head up to Aguirre Springs National Park using Highway 70 and we should arrive to Aguirre Springs at about 11:45am. There is a ranger station off to the right side of the road just before we get into Aguirre Springs where we will have to check in and pay $5.00 per vehicle. I would like to get groups of volunteers to bring items to complete the cookout such as if some people could volunteer to bring drinks, another group to bring chips, another group to bring napkins and plates, another group buns and finally a group to bring hotdogs and burger patties. If you could message Joel on Facebook, or email him santanaept@gmail.com so I can start a list of who is bringing what I would greatly appericiate that and again I’m only asking if you can volunteer to bring something. Hope to see as many minions as possible for this one. Motor On!!

Our “Third Sundays” Adventure took us from El Paso to Las Cruces, Hatch NM and a quick run up to Hillsboro. There were 16 MINIs in all. It was great to see everyone again and we’re always happy to have our buddies from LC join us. Here’s a few pics from the day.

We will continue our third Sundays MINI adventures on Sunday January 21st!   We will head up to Sparky’s in Hatch NM to enjoy some of their delicious, and world famous cuisine   ( well, burgers and treats )

We plan on having a stop in Las Cruces to pick up our NM Buddies. Full details will be posted during the week!

On Sunday November 18th, 2012-epMINIs and it MINIons will have a meetup and cruise. We will start at Kinely’s Coffe and Tea and make our way to the Luna Rossa Winery & Pizzeria just past Old Mesilla. Kids are welcome!

First Meetup Point Starting at 8:30 AM

Kinley’s House Coffee & Tea is located at 2231 N Mesa St, El Paso, TX 79902.  We will start meeting up at 8:30 am and there will be plenty of time for coffee & or breakfast if you so choose.  Kinley himself is a great supporter of ours and will be on hand to help with parking.  Please return the favor and thank Mr. Kinley Pon for letting us invade his parking lot by purchasing some coffee and or breakfast! Second Meetup Point Starting around 10:30 am

After the meet and greet at Kinley’s, we will make our way to the Outlet Shoppes on 7051 S Desert Blvd, Canutillo, TX 79835.  You all know the place!  We’ll use the parking lot located near the south of the buildings to regroup and line up for the cruise.

 

Destination Luna Rossa Winery & Pizzeria

Luna Rossa is located at 1321 Avenida de Mesilla, Las Cruces NM 88005. This is just before Highway 28 Intersects with 1-10 in Las Cruces. We will get there via 28.  Hopefully the pecan trees haven’t lost all of their leaves yet.  Luna Rossa expects us between 11:30 and noon.

The British Motor Car Club of Southern NM will be hosting their 20th annual British Car Days in the old Mesilla Plaza.  The spectator event will go until about 1 pm that day.

If you would like to cruise up Saturday morning, we’ll be meeting up at the first parking lot at the Outlet Shoppes of El Paso on Woodrow Bean/Trans Mt.  Meet Time will be between 9 and 9:30 am on Saturday Morning. We’ll leave by 10 am. Our route will take us up through Highway 28 straight into Mesilla.

Once in Mesilla, we will have to wing it for parking.  There may be some lots just north of the plaza but we’ll just have to see what the situation is like once we get there.

Tuesday, April 24th 2012

MINI of El Paso Hosts the MINI Test Drive Takedown event.  Most of you already have a MINI, but maybe you were considering a trade-up?  Or you know how your friends are always asking about your car and constantly saying “I want one too!”  Well now’s the time! Anyone who attends the Takedown and registers at the event will be eligible for $750 off the purchase of any new MINI in stock.  The $750 is in addition to all other incentives.

MINI will bring in some “competitors” cars for the test drive takedown! This will give your friends the opportunity to experience MINI takedown the competition for themselves! There will be live music, food and fun! 1pm to 7pm (mas o menos)

The Humane Society of El Paso will be holding the “23rd Annual Classic K-9 Walk for Animals” At Album Park from 8:30am to 2pm.

One of our fellow “epMINIons”, Judy Ann Ruiz, has asked if anyone would be taking their dog and their MINI to the event!  Judy will be the point of contact for this event and she can be reached at jazzydo@hotmail.com or 915-525-6125.  I know a lot of you love your dogs as much as you love your MINI, so this ought to be a great time for all!

On Saturday April 21st The Rio Grande Cancer Foundation and the Green House will be holding a Beatles Tribute concert benefit.  Proceeds of the Sgt. Pepper’s Wonderous Wigorium concert ticket sales will benefit the Four Season Beauty Program.

New MINIs, Classic Minis, any MINI will do. Your MINI can be stock or custom.  All we ask is that you shine it and show it!

The show will be held prior to the concert from 5 pm to 7 pm. Please contact us if you are interested.  We will be coordinating with the event sponsors to get more details.
