MINI Takes the States Registration is now OPEN*

Registration is “OPEN” as in MINI USA launched the Website this morning.  However, the servers are being SLAMMED so you will need to check it out later. The image below will take you to the site when its functional again!  (www.minitakesthestates.com) The interest in this is very HIGH so I imagine this is going to be one heck of a road trip!

I’m still thinking our group can make July 12th the travel date to ABQ NM.  We can join the rest of the group there as we make our way to Phoenix and LA.  MINI USA has host hotels with group discounts available. Judging from the server traffic, you will probably need to decide a lot sooner than later if you are going to go on this trip and be able to take advantage of the deals.

El Paso Meet:

Let’s start meeting up at about 9:00 am at the Starbucks on the West Side on North Dessert Blvd.  It’s in the parking lot of the Albertsons on Redd and the Gateway. The address is: 5650 N. Desert Blvd EP TX 79912

 

Depart by 10:00 AM

We’ll have a about a half hour drive to Las Cruces Via I-10. We’ll meet the rest of the group at the Starbucks on S. Valley Dr.  The address is 1500 S Valley Dr., LC NM 88005

 

Directions from EP To LC Starbucks:

I-10 West for about 30 minutes

EXIT 140, and prepare to make a right on Avenida de Mesilla (28)

Stay on Avenida de Mesilla 28 until you reach Valley Drive. Make Right on Valley.

The Starbucks entrance is near the intersection of Hickory and Valley

 

Depart for Hatch by 11:30

From Las Cruces, we’ll take a scenic back road up to Hatch.  (about 45 minutes to an hour) The back road is narrow, has dips, and sometimes farm equipment.  There’s also a Border Patrol Check Point in the middle of nowhere so we urge everyone to watch your speed and watch for road hazards.

 

When we arrive in Hatch, there should be plenty of parking in the lot in front of and around the side of Sparky’s. It’s a pretty popular destination on Sunday’s, so everyone’s patience will be appreciated!

 

Rally Reminder, Sunday Feb 19th

We’re looking forward to this weekends drive and we hope you all are too!  Just wanted to share a few notes with everyone for the drive on Sunday:

MEETUP:

We will start meeting-up around 8:45 AM at the Starbucks on Airway and the Gateway.  The Address is 6669 Gateway Blvd. W, El Paso, Texas

DEPARTURE TIME:

I’d like to roll out by 10 am. This should be plenty of time for everyone to roll in and get ready.

ROUTE:

The route is pretty straight forward.  I-10 east to Sierra Blanca, then cut north to Cornudas.  We will hit a rest stop just outside of Sierra Blanca then cruise through Sierra Blanca and catch FM-1111 to our destination.

Craven Speed Reminder:

Also a quick reminder about the Craven Speed Discount and Raffle.  The codes were sent out in February’s email. The 10% discount code expires on Saturday, but the 5% code is permanents.  All those who attend the rally will be eligible to enter the drawing for the Craven Speed Gift Certificates!

Don’t forget all you crazy MINI owners and perspective MINI owners that this Friday, October 28, is Motor-Tober at the El Paso MINI Dealership. I hope to see everyone there. There has been a TON of news coming out this week regarding MINI’s forthcoming coupe.  I don’t know how much time everyone else spends following up on MINI news and events, but in case you haven’t seen or heard abou the new coupe, go over to Motoring File for a complete round up of specs, galleries, impressions, track test, configurations and much, much more!

And as far as seen one of these in El Paso….los pajaritos me dicen que vamos a ver algunos a finales del verano o principios del otoño.
